I was looking through my pictures folder and couldn't really find anything that particularly stood out. I've been waiting for a chance to post this shot and since I don't have any other's ready, here it is. I shot some more clouds yesterday, but I haven't finished looking through them yet, and I've posted a few of those type of shots recently, so I thought some diversity would be nice.

8:55AM is sort of a bad time to be taking photos as the lighting isn't exactly wonderful. I was experimenting with my reflector, however, which proved to be very helpful. I didn't use it on this shot, but I used the harsher lighting to my advantage. I do wish I would have taken a couple using the reflector to make the shadow a little ligher. I have another somewhat similar shot which shows the backlighting of the plant much better, but it doesn't have a dramatic shadow, and I don't believe it is quite as good compositionally.

No wonder it stood out. Quite striking for a plant its size! Awesome lighting.

It's good to see sunlight and dry soil. It's been rainy, overcast and depressing here. Tommorrow is Easter but it doesn't feel like it.

Great photo. I like the feel of it. The defiant little plant persistently trying to make it in a hostile environment... I like the back lighting and warm colours. Very nice.
