I came across this relatively boring image while I was looking through my archives and decided to see what a little post processing could do. I overcontrasted, and started to improve. I noticed that there were black edges in some parts and was trying to figure out how to crop the photo in order best place them.
After I cropped it a bit I decided to play around with the burn tool (set to shadows, with a rather large, feathered brush at 100% opacity). I artistically burned the edges creating a stained glass window-like effect. The photo is nothing really special, but I was happy enough with the way the effect that I decided to post it. A little more artistic than usual, but I think that could be a good thing. ;)
Just a reminder to everyone that today is "tax day". My dad is an accountant (retired, thank goodness), so today is the day we celebrate. Actually it should be tomorrow as today is the day everyone used to run around like chickens with their heads cut off, but since he no longer has any clients, we celebrate today!
Such good times...
Wallpaper (rotated):
800x600 | 1024x768 | 1280x1024 | 1600x1200
I'm not sure how well the wallpaper works, but I thought I'd post it anyways.
Note: I added wallpaper for the day before yesterday (the vertical cactus). Since the dark side ends in black, it can be extended however far is needed. I was then able to create landscape oriented photos with the cactus positioned on one side of the screen. Sort of a neat effect, I think.
Update:
Upon request, I have provided the original image.

Gorgeous. Could be a little more in focus, but the light and pattern more than make up for any softness.
