I took this photo several months ago. I went to ASU early to take pictures. I had a class at 8:40AM, but the light was just getting perfect about that time. On my way to physics lab, I also found a wonderful patch of flowers. I couldn't help but stop and take a few shots. I have posted several photos from that little flower garden before, but this is perhaps, my favorite shot.
The lighting, clarity and colors really strike me. If you haven't spotted it yet, there is also a tiny, clear bug on the flower. I didn't notice it until I was browsing through the photos later that day. Keep in mind that this flower is actually smaller than it looks in the photograph.
For those of you wondering about saturation, there is +2 saturation, which is virtually undetectable. I suppose I could have left it, but I was going for the optimum color, and you know me...details, details.
I have entered this photo in this week's Lensday.com challenge: macro.

Great shot! Your focus is dead on, and I like the intensity of the colors. I tend to bump up the saturation a bit on my photos as well -- I love vivid colors.

I like the hooked yellow stamens , the off-center subject and the rich green backround.

Another five macros in a row! They're all great, but they're all the same! And, yes, I will keep making fun of them until you show me some good landscapes.

the colors and DOF are spot on. it's interesting to see such tiny little petals in comparison to the rest of the flower.
