Midday or midafternoon lighting isn't the greatest, but there are a few things you can do with it. Backlight is one of them. For me, this photo is about contrast and sharpness. It's very simple, yet powerful. I have also added exif data to the rss feed. Feedback on this would be appreciated.
I don't normally link to other photos on my blog, but if it is an exceptional photo, I will bring it to your attention.
"house on peter" from daily dose of imagery is definitely worth mentioning. The mood created from this photograph is amazing! This photo is one of the few that is better viewed with an lcd screen...something about the texture in the house, I think. This isn't perhaps a world class photograph compositionally, etc., but the mood really struck me.

I like this...just enough in focus to give the eyes something to rest on. The scope of green is nice too.

Fantastic images Ryan. For someone who's life is/will be entirely wound up in the consumption of fossil fuels, you have an amazing eye for unadulterated nature. This leaf macro is an awesome composition.
Keep up the great work.
