I thought since I didn't have anything else in particular to post, I would continue with the nature theme. This was actually taken in someone's front yard. I was sitting across the street in my car waiting for someone and saw this rabbit. I pulled out my 75-300mm and started shooting. The autofocus on that lense is broken, so all telephoto shots have to be manually focused. It would cost almost as much to fix it as it would to buy a new one, so I'm kind of putting off spending any money on telephoto equipment for the time being.
I spent quite some time perfecting the framing. It feels like it should be cropped a little more, but at the risk of destroying the "field" look? I don't know...this works, I guess.
Thanks for everyone's encouraging comments concerning the last several days' macro shots! The pictures aren't really that deserving, but I enjoyed them nonetheless. ;)

Great shot!! A lonely rabbit in the field. Well captured. And great choice of angle.

i really like the shadow in the background, and the shadows in the grass. and the rabbit is nice too. ;)
i think it doesnt need anymore cropping; although it might possibly be beter moved the frame right a bit, because i like having space in the direction the animal is looking.
but thats just my opinion.

Very nice. I like the black background and contrast, but you might try lightening the rabbit's face just a tad. Its hard to tell if that would ruin the lighting effect though...

Great lighting :)

As quick as a bunny.......but you were faster. Good lighting and colour saturation. cute.

No! You did a great job framing it like that. Narrowing the field (vertically) you made viewers concentrate on action and the subject rather than composition or something else :)
And the colors are quite appealing.

Woah, big ears! I don't think you need to crop it any more, as it looks good how it is. Often times it looks better with the subject (in this case the rabbit) looking in to the frame, but I think it looks fine here with him looking out of the frame. Great lighting and color :)

Nice use of the rule of thirds. I would have framed him looking into the frame but you must have had a reason for this view. Nice shot, Ryan.
Warm regards,
John

BUNNY!!!! hehe. did I ever explain the demented bunnies to you? well, that's a long story. anyhow, his guy would fit right in.
I think it's framed very well . . . not that I know much about the technicalities about what makes a good frame. I just think it looks good. The effect of the "field" is wonderful -- it gives the bunny a world to live in.
The background is especially good. The sudden and almost total black makes for a stark contrast and most certainly brings bunny's ears to light. haha, bad pun. even worse now that I pointed it out. ah well, such is . . . something.
Great picture -- can you get one of Bambi too? right, it's after midnight and I'm kinda tipsy from painting the living room without good ventilation, so I'll go now. great job -- bye!

As if the rabbit knows that your were trying to 'shoot' him. His ear flipped backward. Interesting.
