This reminds me of the 3D scenes I used to create in Bryce, a 3D landscape program. The water so smooth and the light almost from a different world.
Similar to yesterday's photo, but not the same. In today's shot there are more ducks and the water is not only smoother, but not as sunny. The silhouettes are darker and also smoother due to the calm waters. Also, those specs you see aren't from the lense or sensor, they're actually on the water.
Due to the smoothness of this photo, I have decided to make it avaliable as wallpaper. I haven't seen any other photobloggers who distribute wallpaper...is this just because of the stealing issue? (an image of high enough quality can be stolen much easier)
Wallpaper:
800x600 | 1024x768 | 1280x1024 | 1600x1200
Several more pond photos to come...

Yup, I like the smoothness also. I might have waited for just a brief moment until the duck on the bottom right lifted it's head...then one would tell it's more of a duck. I would've have added maybe a 2/3s to 1 stop to brighten the scene. As for the wall paper, I usually send people a copy if they request...I usually don't have much time to transfer some to wallpaper, but a good idea to make it available.

Hmm... family outing? Haha! I agree with Ed Little, Jr. If the bottom right duck turns its head the same direction as others it would be nicer. Good news on the wallpapers.

More ducks? Both of the pictures are beautiful.

Very nice, I like the contrast to yesterdays photo... both are good photo's of ducks on water, yet both are very different in color and deffinition. I am especially fond of the reflection of the sillohette in today's photo.

This is just so beautiful. It's the colours on the water and the soft feel that I really like, well done :)

I like the blue to gold transition, and the ripples coming out from the ducks.
Nice one, Ryan :)

I love the velvet texture of this image, and the way the exposure is so perfectly balanced between warmth and detail.
