More caterpillar shots. This is the last of them...at least that you'll see. No, actually there weren't that many good ones. I'm not sure which ones I like best. I sort of have mixed feelings for these shots. As you can tell, I had a terrible time color balancing these three; they are all different and I tried working on them, but altering the color very much shifted the neutral tones out of range. I hate color balancing greens! ahhhhh

Hopefully soon you'll start seeing some people shots, but I don't know, I'm still working on it. lol

Speaking of people photos, check out "Outside Comfort" by Alec Long from Shutter And Pupil. This is the kind of shot I would just love to get someday. Excellent dim lighting and muted tones along with a lack of saturated color give it a surreal look...not to mention the expression on the man's face. Usually shots like this are best displayed in black and white, but this picture combines the elements of black and white with color...amazing.

Interesting subject matter in these! Good macros as usual.

I agree about the "Outside Comfort" photo. It looks like a photo my dad took a few years ago... I'll send it to you.

Oh wow. These are cool! Kind of scary and cute at the same time. Weird considering earlier today I was lying in a field taking photographs....after I got in the car and was driving down the road, I felt something crawling on me and discovered it as a caterpillar. I almost had a wreck trying to get it off of me. Then I pulled over to examine it and ended up being fascinated by the funny way it moved. Go figure. Thanks for leaving a comment and making me one of your favorites...I would have missed these guys otherwise :-)

I think I like the first one in this set the best, I like the "feet" of the caterpillar - something you don't often see ;) That little caterpillar looks so warm and fuzzy you could almost pet him ;)

I generally don't endorse insect shots, but this one is so technically striking I have to say something. Kudos, but I'd rather see a good-looking gal.

Beautiful! I love the first and the last pictures. You can hardly tell they are caterpillars until you look closer. The orange on the green background, with the spiky hairs make it look like something exploding. Great selection.

when I saw the first in this series, I thought "is that.... (a caterpillar) no way... it is!" One of the things I love about your photos and what keeps me coming back to this site is the things you choose to capture on film. They fascinate me, I love it. I feel like a kid again sometimes because I'm intrigued again. (by, simply, the world). It's like looking at things for the first time all over again.... that's how unique it is.
