This is a macro I took a while back and never got around to processing. It turned out a bit more abstract than I anticipated (especially the whispy background), but that was a welcome surprise.
I actually shot this on one of my trips in the Superstition Mountains over spring break. With this particular subject, I was experimenting with my reflector. It's been several months since I took this photo so I don't remember the details, but I'm pretty sure I used the reflector on this shot, which would explain the even green tones.
Well, back in familiar territory subject-wize, at least. :P

I see what you mean; it is rather abstract, but with the contrast of the dark background, and knowing what it is, it works very well.

Is this from outer space. The blurring gives zooming in effect. Really cool! I want a macro lens too (hehe, but I don't even have a dSLR ;p).

Absolutely excellent shot. Out of the ordinary, creative, and well presented. Trying to balance praise with something constructive, I'd have to say that my eye wants something in the middle of the "flower" (if that's what it is), but that would be faking it. right? Maybe a bit of crop on the left side to shoot the eyes off the center of the flower might be a good experiment. Great work that makes me envious.
