Dipping back into my archives again. To begin with, this wasn't a bad shot, but nothing special. Noticing the color contrast, I decided to try a channels extraction; and sure enough, contrast!

I also did some very simple burning around the edges to produce a true black background. The background was almost entirely black but had a few little nuances here and there. The result looks semi-studio like, but doesn't loose it's natural quality.

I thought about cropping to a square, but an of-center look works slightly better compositionally. You can see more detail in the square version, but the composition is less interesting.

I love the contrast and patterns! the square one is less interesting to look at, even if it has more detail. you get quite a lot of that as is. it's beautiful.

Very nice, almost infrared quality. Makes me miss my old biology textbooks.

I don't know about the title, though. It looks more like ice than poison. :)

This looks fantastic! Almost like a veiny snowflake. I would proudly include something like this on my wall.. very pleasing to look at, in its simplicity. :)

Oh... sorry I missed it yesterday. This is a very nice minimalist shot. It is almost like a painting. Nice work on post-processing.

Beautiful, almost abstract work of art!
