Back to Bryce canyon again. I was lying on the ground when I took this which is the reason for the blurry foreground (it's closer than it looks). It was fairly early in the morning and I was using my polerizer, so there wasn't enough light to go to a smaller aperture, and I didn't have time to set up the tripod...man I wish that was in focus. I guess it kinda gives it depth? Anyway...

You can see a person in the shot if you look closely; I tried to time it so there weren't a lot of people on the trail (which you can kind of see if you look closely).

Ahh... clear blue sky. This is what we have been missing now in Malaysia because now we are facing very serious haze due to forest fire from neighbour country. We just can't see anything clearly. I hope this will return as in your photo very soon.

I love the colors. The red of the mountains, the blue sky and the brown leaveless tree! Great one!

Great use of the polarizer & very well framed. You could have cropped out the human interference (it doesn't bother me much, I observed because you wrote)

I think it gives the feeling of falling away, or I should say, into the shot. And certainly the colours are stunning. Those pinks against that blue, wonderful.

this is one of those "top of the list" places i want to visit. your shots make it seem even more important to go there sooner than later!

amasing colour in that picturem and a cool afect with the DOF. It's a great shot, the only thing I don't like about it, and it's not a big thing, but to me it seems a little busy but not much you can doo about that exept burn down some of the shrubery and you might get in trouble for that

Wow ! This is superb, the blue sky (typical for the use of a polarizer) and the orange rocks ! Not the mention the dead tree ! Love it !

I'm not fan of the foreground, though, I think I would have cropped it away.

Well done !

This is my favorite shot of Bryce Canyon. I love the composition with the tree partially framing this beautiful scene. It makes me think of a scene from a "wild west" movie. In light of your title, maybe you were thinking along the same lines.

Holy guacamole, Ryan. This is excellent! Love the saturated colors. What an amazing part of the country out there.

Did the polarizer also darken the tree trunk? I think I would like this shot better if the trunk had more light. Would a mask in PS do the trick?

It's the colors that are stunning. I'm guessing a little help from a polarizer?

I love the differnt textures! Especially in the sand in the foreground. Very nice. I also like how the barren tree (is it really a tree?) just LOOMS over everything -- a very interesting effect and a statement about the tree's personality. :P

(I had to look very hard for the person -- at first I thought it was a cave opening.)

Ah, how I miss Bryce. I spent a summer out there.

Gorgeous colors. You really framed this one well.

i love the top 2/3 of the photo, the sky is a wonderful colour, and i like the shapes of the twisted tree and the golden orange of the rocks. i think the oof sand doesnt add much to the picture though, i think it draws attention away from the detailed areas...

Beautiful composition and colors on this one. The blury gravel doesn't distract me too much on this one, I'm mostly drawn to the sky and the strong shape of the tree. Think I need to schedule a trip to Bryce canyon!
