I've been playing around with my reflector again, can you tell? ;)
I spent a while adjusting this image, and I think it turned out quite well. I wish I would have used a slightly smaller aperture...f/5.6 or so. In macro there's always that delicate balance of getting what you want in focus, but still giving it that close, macro feel. Trickier than it looks. haha
I cooled the white balance off quite a bit but it still looks a little warm. I'm still at odds as to whether I should have dropped the temperature a little farther still. I have a black and white version that looks pretty good, but the color is better. I can post it if you want...
Well, I didn't end up going anywhere yesterday as the battery was dead when I tried to start my car. Hopefully I will get some good urban shooting done this weekend if all goes well.

I agree that a slightly smaller aperture might have been better. . . but you still came away with a great photo ;)
Were you using a gold reflector?

different focus always intrests me, this must be only a few mm, and Im a sucker for dark backgrounds. ;)

Yes, I was using the partially golded side of my reflector, but it really doesn't matter as the color temperature is adjustable in the RAW settings. I try to use the semi-gold side for more middle of the day light and the silver side if the light is already a bit golden.
