This is center of one of the flowers currently blooming on a small cactus plant in our front yard. Good old milimeter depth of field again!
Tomorrow I'll post a photo of the entire plant (or at least a whole flower) to give you a size comparison. This was at or near 1:1, with an effective focal length of 160mm.
This is probably my favorite style of photography: abstract macro. Abstract macros usually make good wallpaper, so I've included wallpapers for this shot.
