I'm not terribly fond of the placement of the leaf, but I guess it's ok. I was experimenting with some new technique here, one which I used over a year ago. It's subtle enough I doubt anyone will actively notice, however. No, I'm not going to tell.

The lighting here is good, but the color still doesn't quite work. I think the problem is the color of dirt.

Well, so much for trying to get away from static "biology book" or "nature shots". At least this one heads me in the direction of my new goal: SIMPLICITY.

I love the detail and simplicity of the shot - perfect.

Only thing is those two green leaves on the very bottom - slightly distracting, but not bad.

I like it, seems to have a slight glow to it but its still nice and soft in a way.

I was thinking it was a cookie- cool though and simple, wondering what technique you are talking about.
