This is another of the Na Pali Coast, along Kauai's Northwestern shore. I just love the textures in this shot: the groves in the mountains covered with lush, green rainforest and the many shades of blue in the nearby ocean. As well as the shadow of the mountains in the water.

I hadn't actually thought these images looking like a 3D rendering until Chet mentioned it about yesterday's shot. And Chet, there is a boat (while not a warship) in the water of yesterday's shot as well as a city or two just out of sight around the bend.

I was debating about whether to post these two images side by side, but I think it works. The contrast in all of the helicopter shots (including these) was rather tricky. It almost doesn't look contrasted enough (too grayish), but the clouds are practically blown out, and there isn't much detail in the shadows, so any more contrast would kill it.

Since Friday's shot was a vertically oriented, I don't think it would have worked very well for wallpaper, but since I was planning on posting this shot anyway, here is the wallpaper to go along with it.

Awesome. Awesome. Yes, it looks like some new game like Civ 4 or AOE 3 or something like that, rendered on top settings with Dual GeForce7800GTXs in SLI.

I love the light cloud cover, the rich blue of the water, the shadows and light on the foliage, the haziness of the distance.

One of my absolute favorites of yours, perhaps after the friendly leaf bug. Now my desktop background.

I like this one even better than Friday's. The rich colors and great perspective are wonderful! Since we celebrate birthdays for at least a week at our house, I'll wish you a very Happy B-Day on today's blog!

Beautiful photo, Ryan. As always. Need I even say that? I think I'm going to start a photoblog, thanks to your influence, and that of Terra Spirit.
