Happy New Year, everyone! I wanted to get something posted for January 1st, so here it is (at 9PM). I will leave it up an extra day.
This is from a recent trip to the Superstitions. I worked quite a while on the color on this shot, but found my best luck with converting to a TIFF right from the camera settings and adjusting the color off of that. Those oranges can be mighty tricky. Adobe Camera Raw 4 (via CS3 beta) works wonderfully. I am having a blast with it.
Today I leave for Hawaii (the big island). I'll be there about a week. I have along my powerbook loaded with CS3, so I will probably upload some photos from there. I am also looking forward to breaking in my new 70-200 f/4L IS. I have done some tests with the IS (image stabilization) and have found it to work quite well.

Is this what we'd refer to as "The Grand Teton?" Wherever it is, it's beatiful.
