I just wanted to emerge from the silence to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving. One thing I am definitely thankful for out in this barren wasteland is the brilliant, orange, desert sunsets, and sunrises, which I am up early enough to see three days a week, this semester. In addition to having few or no clouds, desert sunsets also seem to be more orange and more saturated, (I assume) because of all the dust in the air.
Enjoy the weekend. I might actually have time to post tomorrow too. I'm running out of stuff to pull from the archives, so I might actually have to go shoot something soon.
Also, I contemplated cropping (further) on one or both the top edge and the right edge. They just don't seem to contribute that much to the photo, but the photograph seems more interesting left as you see it here.

Whoa! That is intense! Are you having a sunset contest with your cousin Carrie, or what? :)
It's great that you can look on the bright side of having to get up so early 3 days a week. I guess I'm up that early every day, too. Sunsets are beautiful, but there IS something about a sunrise that is extraordinary. The 'dawning of a new day' or something like that.
I hope you have time to shoot over the weekend. THen we will all have more reasons to be thankful in the coming weeks as we look at your photos!

hey i gotta question...your shutter speed is 1/250 and your aperture is F/13 right? won't the picture be kinda dark? and your exposure is -1?! i thought when u raise your shutter speed and raise the aperture, won't the shot be kinda dark? and your ISO ain't that high either...
