Spring break went well. It would have gone better had I not demolished one of my planes...crashed it, that is. It's been in the 90's here for about a week. Too hot already!

Looks like a thumbscrew for a computer case or a server rack. Flawless exposure and shadow.

Sure does not look like something that was manufactured yesterday.

I am guessing its an adjuster for something that needs to be levelled.

Very nice shot. I love simple compositions and I'm a sucker for vignettes!

My guess for this object is the thumbscrew located on the filter holder on larger lenses???

I suppose I must be in a melancholy mood and way too open with my comments today. This is a beautiful photo of a screw on a piece of wood. I want to view the beautiful things like I see when I browse your archives.

Generally I think it's a thumbscrew of sorts, specifically, I'm not sure at all, though I'm thinking with an outside diameter of that size the increments of turning up and down are fairly important that they need to have a good grasp and control of them.

The contrasts of textures is a dynamic perhaps gone unnoticed here. The natural grained texture of wood is specifically contrasted by the knurled and constructed texture of the metallic screw. I also like the effects both aspect have when affected by light, the depth of and the shape of their forms becomes more apparent in terms of their construction.

Hey Ryan, hows it going?

i like this photo!

to me it looks like one of the radioactive sources i have just been seeing in physics, but i doubt that it is. it looks like an adjusting knob of some sort... and actually the thread looks very like it would fit into the bottom of my camera... hmm.

:D

There is something incredibly quiet and peaceful about this image. It's interesting how it doesn't really matter the subject matter but the mood created. A VERY nice one.
