I have two more of these photos which are rather interesting when viewed in direct succession since they were all taken with the tripod. Again, from Hawaii.

I have recently been increasingly intrigued by the vast forms photography can take when color is taken away. My love for monochrome images continues to grow. After processing the wedding I shot recently, I found that my favorite images were ones with monochromatic processing. Photographs containing people or where people are the subject lend themselves very well to black and white. I am also slowly learning to appreciate contrast and tone more and more...something that begins to take on a new light (no pun intended) when studying monochromatic images.

I agree, I too have grown over the past year to love monochrome photography. Most of the pictures I take I now de-saturate before editing. Monochrome seems to lend it's self to shape bringing out form in an often far more subtle and beautiful way.

I like very much this image; I like the editing you have done, it gives it a very mixed feel of light and dark, distinct and indistinct…

Absolutely perfect. I love the blackness in the rocks.

This looks great, b&w is a good choice.
