There is a small stone structure on the top of South Mountain. That is what you see on the left side of the image, with Phoenix city lights and a classic desert sunset in the background. TGIF.

There is something about the dark mood that a nearly set sun paints. The mood created by the silhouette against a relatively dark background reminds me of this image of a Joshua Tree in northwestern Arizona.
