Last Friday Mark and I did some hiking in the Superstitions. We stopped at my favorite rock in order to capture some dramatic sunset photos with a half moon, a few stars, and a cloudless sky.

Also, for those of you in Safari who are probably squinting at the weird sky colors, I didn't add any saturation, just some curves adjustments. I am finding that Adobe Camera Raw does not do an accurate job of processing reds from my 20D, so until I can get it calibrated, I am processing all of my photos that contain a significant amount of red hue by converting to a TIFF with the Canon software and then adjusting curves in Photoshop.

Nice I know where this rock is. Have you ever hiked that trail all the way up to the flatiron? Amazing views from up there.

I do definitely like your colors better - much more accurate as well.

Looking forward to some night shots!

Great photo! The sky is fantastic and so are all the lights in the city :-) On many photos of this kind there's no foreground but the stone makes the photo so good.

I like the two stars that are revealing themselves as darkness falls along with the lights of the city.

That is one thing I loved about visiting Arizona-- the view of the city from above. Of course, I only saw it from a plane. This is a lovely picture, though.

What a great spectrum of light during the sunset.
