Lens: EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM

I wasn't feeling well one morning, and consequently I was up earlier than usual. I decided to try some shooting in the front yard. I was coming up empty until I ran into this closed hibiscus.

This image is available as a wallpaper. (You can see all the little hairs even better on the larger sizes.)

The second image in the set will be posted tomorrow.

For someone not too well...you did a great job. I think I might use it as my wallpaper.

How much of the blur was because of your aperture, and how much was from post processing work?

Either way, the whole thing is very striking.

Hey Chris, Thanks for the comment!

All of the blur was from the aperture, I didn't add any. I did use noise reduction to smooth out the grain at ISO-400, but the blur is all natural.

It's amazing how macro photography opens up a whole new world. I love the intricate detail and delicate lines.
