This flower (same one in "Pink Hooks" two days ago) reminds me of those onion rings you get a Chile's. This image was taken with the 50mm f/1.8 which doesn't get much use from me, I'm sorry to say. It's not a bad lens for certain applications, but it's focusing distance is so long that I have a hard time getting that so desired blurred background so often seen in macros. This image, in fact, was shot at the closest range for this lens. For reference, this flower is 4 or 5 inches across.

Hey Ryan,

Pick yourself up a set of close-up filters for this lens. They'll shorten your minimum focusing distance considerably. Before I got my macro, I used them on my 50/1.8 with great success.
